Farmland Fresh Dairies milk is a nutritional powerhouse. Every eight ounce glass of milk contains nine essential nutrients including calcium, Vitamin D, Potassium, Vitamin B12, Vitamin A, Protein, Phosphorus, Riboflavin, and Niacin. What are rBST and artificial growth hormones and what is Farmland Fresh Dairies position on rBST?

"rBST" (Recombinant bovine somatotropin) is an artificial growth hormone injected into cows for the purpose of increasing milk production. Farmland Fresh Dairies milk, cream, and cultured products are produced from cows that have not been treated with artificial growth hormones (rBST). Our milk supply is drawn strictly from farmers who pledge not to use artificial growth hormones.

Do Farmland Fresh Dairies products contain antibiotics and does its organic milk assortment differ in regard to antibiotics?

Antibiotics are used routinely in dairy production by farmers and veterinarians to treat the cows for a variety of reasons. Milk from a cow being treated with antibiotics is required to be separated from other cows’ milk and disposed of for an amount of time designed to allow the antibiotics to clear from the cow’s body. Every tanker of milk is required to be tested for certain antibiotics commonly used in dairy production to ensure those varieties of antibiotics do not accidentally enter the milk supply above tolerance levels set by the FDA. If any of these tested-for antibiotic residues are detected, the milk is not used. Our suppliers comply with these requirements. Organic milk differs in respect to antibiotic use. The only time that antibiotics can be administered is to save a cow’s life, and if antibiotics are used, the cow can never return to the organic herd.

Can Farmland Fresh Dairies milk and cream be frozen to create longer shelf life?
